What is the ideal age for my daughter to attend the workshop?

There is no exact age. What matters is how the girl is developing. A first period does not arrive overnight: the body gives signs about two years earlier, such as breast buds and pubic and underarm hair. When these changes begin, it is important that she lives them with the right information, so she knows what is normal and what is not.

It can also be a good time even if her body has not changed yet, when her classmates are already developing. When girls do not get correct information at home, they share what they have heard with each other, and that creates doubts and stress.

We consider the ideal range to be 7 to 11 years old, 12 at most. Some girls develop early and can join from age 7, and others develop later and join up to age 12.

My daughter has already had her first period. Does the workshop still make sense?

Yes. This information is not only for receiving a first period. Our view of the menstrual cycle is multidimensional and complete: we talk about the body, emotions, thoughts, the emotional phases of the cycle, and how to apply them to projects, daily life and all relationships. That is why it makes no difference whether she has had her first period or not: it is information she can use for the rest of her life.

What is the difference between the online course and the in-person workshop?

The online course is on video, at your own pace and from home. The in-person workshop (Mother-Daughter Transformation Experience, Mi Primera Lunita) includes a preparatory Zoom session for mothers and an in-person mother-daughter meeting in Querétaro, with very careful attention.

How does the in-person workshop work, and how many pairs take part?

It is 9 hours in two sessions: a preparatory Zoom session for mothers and the in-person mother-daughter meeting. Places are limited to a maximum of 10 mother-daughter pairs per group. Dates and times for each group are confirmed on WhatsApp.

What does the in-person workshop include?

It includes the full program (we share the syllabus on WhatsApp) and some of the materials. It does not include the book or the kit, which are purchased separately. Some materials we cannot provide, such as family photographs and personal objects, so each family brings them.

How does the online course work, and how much does it cost?

It has 7 video modules with Minerva Almazán Arreola. It includes a PDF of instructions for each module and a list of materials to gather before you start. At the end, each mother-daughter pair receives a personalized certificate and a discount code for bamboo sanitary pads. The course is available for 25 days from the date of purchase. It costs $499 MXN, and each extra pair costs $250 MXN.

What payment methods do you accept for the workshop?

We accept bank transfer, PayPal, card and cash. We also offer three interest-free monthly payments with a credit card, through Clip.

Are there discounts for sisters, an extra pair or groups?

Yes. To learn the discount, write to us on WhatsApp and tell us how many people it would be, because it depends on the number.

Are deposits refundable, and can I change the date?

Deposits are not refundable and dates cannot be changed, because places in each workshop are exclusive and limited. Only a few exceptions are considered. If you cannot attend, you can transfer or sell your place to someone else.

Are the workshops recorded and photographed?

Yes. The workshop is recorded and photographed, and the material is shared in the WhatsApp group of enrolled mothers. On social media we only use the photos of families who authorized it by signing the photo permission form. If a mother later decides to withdraw her permission, that is respected, because it is every person’s right.

Is sexuality discussed?

No. Ours is a positive-parenting approach to menstrual education. Sexuality is not introduced to girls until they have the maturity for it, whether by age, development or exposure to the subject. Our teaching system is gradual and respectful: menstrual education should be like any other subject, moving forward step by step with topics suited to the age of the person receiving it.

Why choose the Academy of Menstrual Education?

Because of our multidimensional view of the menstrual cycle, and a methodology and teaching system developed over more than 10 years of study, research and teaching workshops directly with mothers, daughters and families. It is information that is useful not only for a first period but for life: their creative processes, relationships, emotional intelligence and self-esteem.
